Who We Are
At Gilmour Photography we produce commercial photography content for leading companies and advertising agencies.
We understand that you have timelines and deadlines and you probably needed the photos yesterday. That’s why we get to know the heart of your story and follow a creative and production strategy built around showing your story. Our photography process allows clients and art directors to see the photos as they are made so you are confident we have the shot. After years of producing affordable and compelling photography for ad agencies and businesses we’ve become experts at creating content that powerfully conveys your message and engages your audience.
Commercial photographer, Brett Gilmour, oversees all aspects of the commercial photography from creative planning and shooting through editing and post-production. His deep technical knowledge of commercial photography and ability to listen to clients make him a valuable part of any creative team.
Brett is an Adbassador for the Ad Rodeo Association. He teaches photography workshops at Universities and to photographers. His architectural photography has earned many local and international awards. Brett served on the CAPIC Prairie Board of Directors for 10 years and was a guest Board Member of the Graphic Designers of Canada, Alberta South branch. He judged the Banff Mountain Film Festival for 5 years.
For many years Brett was a prototype equipment testing athlete for The North Face, Gore-Tex, Salomon, Helly-Hansen, K2, Atomic, Goode, Smith, Scott and other companies. He currently works with Outdoor Research and other brands.
Brett is available for media inquiries, public speaking, and workshops about corporate, architectural and commercial photography.

From initial conversations we turn ideas into compelling commercial photography that resonates with your audience. We work with businesses, marketing departments and advertising agencies to develop a visual language that supports your brand.
Our team of producers, stylists, art directors and editors will guide you from initial concept to post-production. We can handle scouting, permits, props, wardrobe, hair, makeup, photography, Photoshop, compositing, colour grading, output and distribution. Our level of support is matched to the size and budget of your photography project. The result is memorable photography that elevates your brand.
Our shooting process allows art directors and clients to see and collaborate on the photographs as they are made. Gilmour Photography uses a colour managed photography system that accurately reproduces colour and incredible detail. You will leave the photo shoot confident that Gilmour Photography has created photographs that powerfully convey your message and engage your audience.
Whether we’re working from a helicopter or the platform of a drilling rig, we take safety seriously. Gilmour Photography is perhaps the only photography service in Alberta that carries WCB insurance for the entire commercial photography crew. Our crew has standard personal protection equipment and we can supply our own safety equipment for working at heights. Brett is Work at Height certified.
